Pre-Fall 2010 Part 2: Burberry Prorsum & Pringle of Scotland - The British

Burberry Prorsum

As a huge fan of 'military' inspired clothing, I was a 'fan at first sight' of the close-to-the-body cuts of Christopher Bailey's PF'10 coats sporting a touch of military, and the luscious cropped aviator jacket:

Pringle of Scotland

Clare Waight Keller is the woman responsible for 'refreshing' heritage label Pringle of Scotland. With her innovative approach to knitwear she has reinvented the brand since she was appointed creative director in 2005. Love her elegant yet effortless designs, and so wish I had some of her cozy and beautifully sculptural knits in my suitcase as I leave for cold Japan in a few days (love that first jacket and oatmeal coat too!)

Pre-Fall 2010 Part 1: Donna Karan & Carolina Herrera - Queens of dresses

Donna Karan

Season after season, Donna Karan delights me with her beautifully draped dresses...For Pre-Fall 2010, these dresses were designed in beautifully lush colours such as brandy, olive, and heath with touches of parrot green and kingfisher blue...I think the strapless gowns are my favourite of this collection:

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera sure knows how to design a show stopping gown, not shying away from colour: bold hues—lava red, dandelion yellow, and Directoire blue were used for this gorgeous collection, showcasing both wearable pieces, and some red-carpet worthy gowns:

Happy Birthday Mr Brigadeiro!

Today is hubby's birthday, and we started celebrations last Saturday with friends on the beach...frolicking in the sun and waves, enjoying French champagne and nibbling on fresh fruit...it was a perfect way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon, which was followed by a beautiful dinner where we shared several entrees and 'nibbly bits':

Birthday card made by our friends' gorgeous 3 year old daughter

Smoked mackerel pate, horseradish snow, beetroot relish, crisp rye bread

House made falafels (made with broad beans - so it was green inside), minted tahini sauce

Coffin Bay 'Valentine' oyster, freshly shucked, mignonette sauce

Kangaroo Island Haloumi, watermelon, mint and shallot dressing

Miso crusted wagyu, coriander pistou, wasabi mayo, pickled mushrooms, soy beans

Ruby summer salad - beetroot, watermelon, rasberry, red cabbage, goats curd, maple dressing

Seared scallops, vichyssoise sponge, smoked ham powder, fried leek, watercress

Kingfish sashimi, shaved mojama, gazpacho vinaigrette, almond oil

My main course: Pork fillet, confit pork belly, apricot stuffing, braised red cabbage, spiced pork crackling

The restaurant had a beautiful view, and the sunset was breathtaking...

I wore the Thakoon SS'08 tie dye coatdress I have been wearing a lot lately (thrice in the last week!)

Rachel Roy - Beautiful draping...

This is one of my current favourite outfits, having used it three times in the last month or so, as it is so easy to throw on and so comfortable...

Dress: Rachel Roy Viola wrap dress (looks much better on the model, of course) - am grateful for the stretchy waistband
Shoes: Christian Dior Extreme Python sandals
Bag
: Chloe lambskin bracelet bag

Bracelet: Tom Binns Faux Real

What first made me fall in love with Rachel Roy's designs were her beautiful drapey pieces...Her debut Spring/Summer 2007 collection of hers is still my favourite, especially the draped yellow strapless dress (which was my first purchase of hers):

Some other gorgeous pieces of hers I love...
