Seed Heritage striped espadrilles

I don't go into actual stores very often, but it's always so fun going into a Seed store, as the visual merchandising in the store is just gorgeous! The store sells baby, kids and women's clothing (I usually go for the kids clothing)
How cute are these headbands?
Even though I mostly go to Seed for the little ones, one day I found a scarf that soon became one of my favourite scarves, and I've always checked out their scarves since, as they always have a gorgeous range...  I recently caught wind that they had a wicked two-toned leather espadrille out (sold out online immediately), so I made an effort to go in store.  No leather espadrilles left (except for a size 41), but these were in store.
I tried one to figure out sizing...
They looked so cute on, I had to bring them home with me, and I could immediately picture them with so many outfits:

Look 1: Maje black dress, Celine Trio, Swisslegend watch, Jimmy Fairly sunglasses, Ek Thongprasert bracelet
Look 2: Sincerely Jules 'Viva la Moda' tee (available here), Chanel Boy bag, Zara denim shorts, Ray Ban folding wayfarer sunglasses

I got to wear them on Sunday (Father's Day here Down Under) which I'll share about in the next post.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

The new 'Boy' (Chanel) in my life

When I walked into the Chanel store on Rue du Faubour Saint-Honoré in Paris, it was just to do some 'museum/window shopping'.  And 'just for fun' (because they didn't have classic beige with GHW I wanted to see), I tried on some 'Boy' bags.  I had seen them before, but had never considered them for myself...until this moment:

Left to right: lambskin 'grey', calfskin double stitch and matte caviar
Mr Brigs insisted I get one (which is incredibly unusual, I tell you!).  I kept saying no, no, no...I have to obsess over something for months or years first, I can't decide things at the snap of my fingers!  After mulling it over some lunch, we went back, and I walked out with this...
I used to have a thing about not being able to wear the double interlocked 'C's' (despite that being my actual initials - so, really, made to measure, right?), but I have warmed up to the idea, ever since I borrowed my sister's classic Chanel bag for half an hour (we swapped bags)
Thought I'd lie it side by side with my Chanel 2.55 Reissue 266 to compare dimensions...
The (medium) Boy bag is wider and shorter...
I've already taken the 'Boy' for several 'spins', and like its 'punky' edge.  One outfit included my navy David Szeto 'Moulin' dress and Maison Martin Margiela for H&M plexi boots

  5. Decision was made over lunch, and I promptly returned to stake my claim

  14. Popelini storefront (they have gorgeous little choux pastries)
  15. I went for the 'Choux du Jour' pistachio cream and raspberry *drool*
  16. Also bought bread from the 'best bread in the world' (only realized I was staying a block away from it and Popelini the day before I leave! Doh!) from Poilâne

  18. Chanel on my favourite chair
  19. Too pretty to open, but I had to pack
  20. My 'other' baby Boy
  21. My Popelini...yuuuuum!

I'm back! With Instatravel Diary Part 1 - Paris

Bad blogger, bad blogger!

I am so so sorry for going MIA for as long as I have.  Paris/France was much busier than I thought it'd be (which was very nice for a change), and the only night I had access to a computer with internet was the night I had to pack my suitcase...

I had an amazing time, met amazing people (Nathalie, Olivier & Jeremy: here's looking at you), met my favourite Haute Couture designer Yiqing Yin and was blown away by her show (as well as backstage), ate incredible food (too much!), spent priceless time with my family, traveled to Champagne and Provence (and 2 days in London), did a spot of shopping (more on that sometime later), and just had an absolute blast!

I got back late last week and jet-lag has been horrendous (still is, especially since Lil Brigs #2 has been sleeping terribly too).  I have been meaning to share some of my 2,000 or so photos, but I accidentally deleted my Photoshop! With my pictures take in RAW form it'd take forever to upload them, so until I have that sorted, I thought I'd share some of my Instagram pics.  I still hope/intend on sharing my actual camera pictures (I took a few snaps of fashionistas I often feature on this blog!), and I know a few of you may have seen these already, but since not everyone's on Instagram, here is my first installment (in a reverse chronological order, just to be extra confusing - start from the bottom going from right to left):

So working from bottom to top, right to left:

1. Cool flooring at London's 'Duck & Waffle'
2. Cool bottles hanging from the ceiling of 'Duck & Waffle'
3. Haute Couture show invites
4. View from the apartment in Le Marais (opposite Martin Grant's 'institute')
5. View from the apartment in Le Marais
6. Backstage pass to Yiqing Yin's Haute Couture show
7. View from my bedroom
8. What I wore (Saba top, Zara skort, Nike & Chanel reissue)
9. Inside Dries Van Noten's flagship store
10. Plaid at Dries Van Noten
11. New collection at Dries Van Noten
12. Late night gateaux
13. Outfit (Chloe dress, Dries Van Noten clutch)
14. Outside Grand Palais - Chanel Haute Couture
15. Heading to Stephane Rolland's Couture show
16. Backstage pass to Stephane Rolland
17. Waiting for bus to go to Julien Fourne's Couture show
18. Beautiful invite to Oscar Carvallo's Couture show
19. Late night dessert at the apartment

Planning upcoming outfits to wear during Paris Couture Week

Ok, so I really should be wrapping up my packing, as I leave in a couple of days.  As invites have started rolling in, I realised that it will be more than the 1-2 shows that I will be attending at Paris' Couture Week, so started panicking as that means I need more 'dressy' outfits.  I have been spamming my Instagram feed with outfits I'm thinking of wearing, and for my own reference, thought I'd post them here, so I have them on the one page.  There is another dress I had long planned to bring which is at the tailor (along with a few other pieces I'm hoping to pack - talk about last minute! I'm picking them up the day before I take off!).  I had only planned on bringing one pair of dressy shoes, but that has proved a challenge, so I'm trying to pack shoes that should hopefully suit a variety of outfits and that aren't too bulky:

T-shirt: Bonds, Dress: Chloe (by Phoebe Philo), Clutch: Dries Van Noten, Sandals: Dries Van Noten
Dress: Malaysian hand-painted batik 'maxi' dress, Shoes: Margiela for H&M plexi booties, bag: Dries Van Noten - when I bought this dress, I thought it was so Dries Van Noten, and something I could picture Cate Blanchett wearing (not sure why). Am also thinking these may suit some minimal flat DVN sandals I have (and are pretty light, if I'm to add it to my growing shoe list)...
Dress: David Szeto (unfortunately you can barely see what it's meant to look like), Clutch and sandals: Dries Van Noten
Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Koi Suwannagate, Clutch: Dries Van Noten, Shoes: Margiela for H&M plexi booties
as before, but bag: Chanel reissue, with this outfit I'd prefer black sandals, but I can't seem to find mine! Don't know where they are since I moved...
And again.

I thought perhaps to avoid bringing/smooshing my Chanel bag I'd bring the Dries Van Noten clutches which are more compact and less 'delicate' to pack, but I'm not sure yet...

New in & What I wore today: Ray Ban Folding Wayfarers and ASOS anchor dress

It all started with this post by Garance Dore. A I saw the header picture and read on, my eyes went as wide as teacups: foldable sunglasses?!? Where have you been all my life? I had been considering a new pair of black sunglasses anyway, and when I read about these I couldn't stop thinking about how perfect they'll be for traveling (so these are coming with me to Paris in 3 weeks time for sure).  These are seriously brilliant, and I'm so glad I got them! Fold them and put them in your pocket when entering a store instead of fumbling in your bag for the case, or instead of pushing them up onto your hair and getting tangled with the nose pads (of my aviators), or dropping them tto the ground when you bend down. You can get a pair here.

Ray-Ban foldable Wayfarer sunglasses (I bought the polarized version - still much cheaper than any other sunglasses I own)
Ok, sorry to scare you guys, but I thought I'd show how they fit on the face.  I'm so glad I went in store to try them on, as I was sure I'd go for the bigger/oversized pair, but on trying decided on the original size. n.b. I didn't intend the photo to be fuzzy, but with the camera on timer this is the best I could do...
1. ASOS anchor dress (available here), 2. Chanel matte calfskin reissue bag with gold hardware (found one here and here), 3. Woolworths (yes, my friends, Woolworths!) fleece-lined leggings, 4. Isabel Marant Dicker boots in Anthracite (available here and here)
first pic via Garance Dore, the rest by yours truly

I love Jumpers

Ciao a tutti!
Amy
